Our Methodology
Every comparison on this site follows the same rigorous process. Here is exactly how we evaluate AI subscriptions.
Hands-On Testing
We pay for and actively use every AI subscription we review. No trial accounts, no vendor-provided demos. Each product is tested across a standardized set of tasks — writing, coding, analysis, creative work, and conversational quality — so comparisons reflect real capabilities, not marketing promises.
Regular Price Verification
AI providers change pricing frequently. We verify every price point directly from official sources on a regular cadence and update our pages within 48 hours of confirmed changes. Every pricing page shows a "last verified" date so you know the information is current.
Feature-by-Feature Analysis
We break down every subscription into its component features — model access, context window size, rate limits, API availability, file upload support, image generation, plugins, and more. This granular approach makes it easy to see exactly where each product excels and where it falls short.
Real-World Usage Scenarios
Benchmarks only tell part of the story. We test every product in real-world scenarios: drafting emails, debugging code, summarizing documents, brainstorming ideas, and building projects. Our "best for" recommendations are grounded in how these tools actually perform in daily workflows, not isolated tests.
Benchmark Scoring
Where applicable, we reference publicly available benchmarks (MMLU, HumanEval, GPQA, and others) alongside our own qualitative assessments. Scores are normalized so you can compare across providers on a consistent scale. We always note when benchmark data is self-reported versus independently verified.
Community Feedback
Our analysis doesn't happen in a vacuum. We monitor community sentiment across forums, social platforms, and user reviews to surface issues and strengths that might not appear in controlled testing. Reader corrections and feedback are incorporated into updates — if we get something wrong, we fix it.
